LaRussell Headlines Music in the Park's First Hip Hop Show
"Man, it's changed my life."
"There weren't many adults in my life that really saw my perspective,"
"or views weren't valued. I was not asked about how I felt and what I was experiencing. With the youth that's around us, they're really cultivated. So to see all them flourish and shine, it's really dope."
"It's my first time actually performing in San Jose,"
"They've been asking me for a [San Jose] show for years, and I haven't been able to find a venue to accommodate what I wanted to do,"
LaRussell released collaborations in 2025 with Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Montell Jordan and Lil Jon and delivered a critically acclaimed Outside Lands main-stage set. He brought E-40 to Vallejo and is headlining Music in the Park on Sept. 21, the event's largest bill with seven live acts and a DJ. The San Jose performance spotlights Bay Area cultural connections and features Souls of Mischief, Ruby Ibarra, Kung Fu Vampire and Misa James. LaRussell prioritizes uniting people through high-energy, inclusive hip hop events, cultivating young artists, staging outdoor community shows and celebrating local talent and youth.
