KISS guitarist Ace Frehley buried in the Bronx with bandmates in attendance
"The 74-year-old guitarist died last Thursday in New Jersey after suffering a recent fall that reportedly led to a brain bleed. Ace Frehley was laid to rest in a cemetery in the Bronx, New York of course, where he grew up, very close to where his parents were buried, which were his wishes, Trunk said in a video posted to Instagram Wednesday."
"Trunk said Frehley's family has given him their blessing to throw a tribute show for Frehley fans, but warned that won't happen before next year. There is nothing at all to share yet on this, but when there is you will for sure know about it, he said in the video. I think it's important for Ace's legacy, his fans and the countless guitar players he influenced."
Ace Frehley, co-founder and former guitarist of KISS, was buried in the Bronx near his parents in accordance with his wishes. A private memorial in Yonkers preceded the burial and was attended by roughly 75 people, mostly musicians who had played or recorded with him. Original KISS members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Peter Criss attended both services. Frehley, 74, died last Thursday in New Jersey after a recent fall that reportedly led to a brain bleed. An investigation is underway to finalize his cause of death, with a toxicology report and external examination expected soon. He is survived by his wife Jeanette and daughter Monique. Frehley's family has given blessing for a tribute show for fans, likely not before next year.
