Middle school and teenage students adopted the chant "6-7" as a playful, meaning-free phrase that students shout and gesture with glee. The chant originated from the song "Doot Doot (6 7)" by Philadelphia rapper Skrilla, which leaked at the end of 2024 and quickly spread among youth. The lack of fixed meaning allowed broad, spontaneous use across social settings, prompting at least one school to ban the phrase and generating viral moments on television and social media. Teachers and parents noticed frequent repetition and classroom disruptions. Skrilla described the phrase as positive and encouraged its continued upbeat use.
