"So much for "tick-tock on the clock, but the party don't stop." Pop star Kesha was in the Bay Area on Tuesday night and, according to her TikTok account, graced downtown Palo Alto's the Patio with her presence. But in a tragic example of life imitating art, the police reportedly shut her down. ""But the popo took 'police shut us down' literally..." continued the text on Kesha's TikTok, referencing the song's lyrics, as she left the stage. It was unclear whether her song was actually cut short because of police activity. In the video, Kesha appears to check in with a security guard after she stops singing, but no police are visible. All wasn't lost though. The video ends with Kesha rocking out as the rest of the bar screams the song's lyrics."
"It's no surprise the crowd was able to sing along to every word despite having no advance warning of Kesha's appearance. "Tik Tok" became a phenomenon when it debuted in 2009, spending nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list en route to a 12-time platinum certification by RIAA. The song has been streamed 1.69 billion times on Spotify."
Kesha made an unannounced appearance at downtown Palo Alto's the Patio and performed her 2009 hit "Tik Tok" wearing an oversized feather jacket. The impromptu performance was reportedly shut down by police, and Kesha appears to check in with a security guard after she stopped singing; no officers are visible in the video. The crowd continued singing the song's lyrics and helped the night continue, and Kesha called them "gorgeous angels." "Tik Tok" spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, reached 12-times platinum certification, and has 1.69 billion streams on Spotify. The Patio did not respond to a comment request, and Kesha's reason for being in Palo Alto was unclear.
