Kendrick Lamar Wins Best Rap Album for GNX at 2026 Grammys
"Kendrick Lamar has won Best Rap Album for at the 2026 Grammys. The rapper scored the trophy ahead of competitors Clipse (Let God Sort Em Out), GloRilla (), JID ( God Does Like Ugly), and Tyler, the Creator (Chromakopia). Last year's Best Rap Album Grammys winner, for Alligator Bites Never Heal, was Doechii, who became only the third woman to take the category in its 36-year history. This marks Lamar's fourth time winning the award, having previously taken the prize for To Pimp a Butterfly, , and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers."
"Tyler, the Creator has two Best Rap Album trophies to his name. Clipse, on the other hand, only had one Grammy nomination before this year's haul. That was for their feature on Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You," which, like Let God Sort Em Out, was produced by Pharrell Williams (alongside his unhappy Neptunes collaborator Chad Hugo)."
"Lamar's win could bode poorly for Clipse, who will go up against him once more in Album of the Year tonight. GloRilla and JID, meanwhile, had both been seeking their first Grammys this year, after multiple nominations. So far, both have come up short."
