"one of the most Southern California sounding songs ever recorded"
"I hear Jane's Addiction in the verses, Beach Boys / Weezer in the chorus, and RHCP in the outro,"
"It was literally produced by the guy from Bad Religion [Brett Gurewitz] FFS. Everyone was just firing on all cylinders for this one. Joey Warnoker's drumming, TLA's mix, and Lenny Castro's percussion all just sent it to the end-zone. This song would go insanely hard in a Shrek film."
Joyce Manor will release their seventh album, I Used to Go to That Bar, on January 30 via Epitaph Records. The band issued the single Well, Whatever It Was, described as one of the most Southern California sounding songs ever recorded by singer-guitarist Barry Johnson. Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion produced the album, contributing to the SoCal/Epitaph sonic character alongside credited performances and mixing. A North American tour runs March 9 to May 15, 2026, with Coachella appearances during a mid-route break; Militarie Gun, Teen Mortgage, and Combat will provide support. An artist presale uses code DEPRESSED and general tickets sell via Ticketmaster.
