Josh Freese on Foo Fighters Firing: "It Wasn't Music That I Really Resonated With"
Briefly

Josh Freese was fired from Foo Fighters earlier this year. He did not resonate with the band's music. Freese rejoined Nine Inch Nails and is playing on its North American tour through September 19 in Los Angeles. He experienced pressure taking over Foo Fighters' drum kit following Taylor Hawkins' passing and felt he had to "be firing on all cylinders all the time." Freese acknowledged Ilan Rubin as a phenomenal drummer and musician who will suit Foo Fighters. He has not been approached by Pearl Jam and intends to keep playing live.

As for another big drummer opening following Matt Cameron's departure from Pearl Jam, Freese said he hasn't been approached, but noted, "Whatever happens, I'm going to be out there playing. That's all I've ever wanted to do."
