"Jesus Piece has been dead for some time. A member quit abruptly for personal reasons and we felt wrong continuing without him. Anything you see associated with this name or similar, playing our music and using our art, is not related to anything we worked for over the last 10 years. We are proud of everything we did and it changed our lives forever. To try and continue that without us or in spite of us, is a mockery of what we've done"
"That's me and the homies."
"We never accepted this fest. Have no idea who Je$us Piece is."
Jesus Piece has ended after ten years. Drummer Luis Aponte and guitarists David Updike and John Distefano said a member quit abruptly for personal reasons and they felt wrong continuing without him. The members said any performance using the band's name, music, or art is not related to their decade of work and called attempts to continue without them a mockery. Singer Aaron Heard shared a festival poster listing Je$us Piece and wrote 'That's me and the homies.' The band combined hardcore, industrial, and metalcore across two albums and three EPs, including 2018's Only Self and 2023's ...So Unknown.
