Then second single, Living My Best Life, came out in May and Cornish was giving interviews about how she was living her best life, while still secretly living with breast cancer. A month later she went public, and in early July she had a mastectomy."

The album aimed to confront personal devastation including endometriosis, miscarriage, failed relationships, gaslighting and suicide. The first single No Secrets released in April preceded a private breast cancer diagnosis in March that she initially kept secret. The second single, Living My Best Life, released in May while she continued interviews but had not disclosed the cancer. She went public a month later and underwent a mastectomy in July, cancelling tour dates while awaiting reconstructive surgery.
