Indian rock sensations Bloodywood: What's more metal than standing up for people you love?'
Briefly

Bloodywood, formed in 2016, combines nu-metal with traditional Indian instruments, creating a unique fusion sound. They gained popularity covering songs on YouTube before performing at major festivals, like Wacken Open Air. Their music not only entertains but also carries a political message aimed at combating social issues such as bullying and ethnic prejudice. Members Jayant Bhadula and Karan Katiyar highlight their commitment to representing their culture while propelling heavy metal into diverse territories. Their recent work includes contributing to film soundtracks, further establishing their presence in the global music scene.
We're serving a really nice dish called metal tikka masala. It's metal but with so many spices that it'll overwhelm your senses. You will headbang and you will end up dancing with us.
We want to try to represent everyone. We see a lot of bullying, a lot of hate, and... a lot of it aimed at ethnicity, which is why it became more important for us to tell our story.
Since forming in 2016, Bloodywood’s genre-blurring style features traditional Indian instruments alongside heavy metal, transforming their music into a unique cultural fusion.
Their journey from viral covers on YouTube to performing at major festivals like Wacken Open Air and Download shows how they've evolved within the metal scene.
