In her sophomore era, Renee Rapp is back and bitier than ever
"Everyone's like, 'Oh, after her break,' and I'm like, 'You mean doing festivals every other weekend? And making an album during it?'"
"It's whatever, I've performed through worse."
"The only real break that I took was saying, 'No, I don't want to just put out music to put out music.'"
Reneé Rapp maintained heavy professional activity while critics and fans labeled her on hiatus after less than two years without solo releases. She performed frequent festivals, recorded an album, and launched the Bite Me Tour despite illness and past instances of pushing through shows with food poisoning. Her career includes a celebrated Broadway run as Regina George, a television stint, a movie musical adaptation of Mean Girls, an EP, and two albums. Snow Angel debuted in 2023 and Bite Me released in August, followed by tour dates. She framed her only intentional pause as refusing to release music solely for output.
