Immolation announce new album 'Descent,' share "Adversary"
"It's called Descent, and it arrives on April 10 via Nuclear Blast ( pre-order). The band promises that "this album takes what we've done on the last couple of records and truly brings it to a new level. The material stays true to our roots, but also goes into some new territory at times, being somewhat ambitious, but taking nods from even our earliest moments.""
"The first taste is "Adversary," and it picks right up where 2022's Acts of God left off, with a crisp, brutal, death metal assault that has these seasoned vets sounding as hungry as ever. Check out the song and its video (directed by the band's own Bob Vigna) below. The band also say they "look forward to playing it all live for you soon," and they'll be doing that on their recently-announced tour supporting Behemoth, alongside Deicide and Rotting Christ."
Immolation will release Descent on April 10 via Nuclear Blast. The band says the album builds on recent records while remaining rooted in early material, exploring new territory and ambition in places. The lead single "Adversary" continues the band's crisp, brutal death metal approach and is accompanied by a video directed by guitarist Bob Vigna. The band intends to perform the new material live and will support Behemoth on a European tour alongside Deicide and Rotting Christ. The ten-track album includes songs such as "These Vengeful Winds," "God's Last Breath," and title track "Descent."
