"I first came across them when I came back on social media,"
"I just really didn't like it, and I didn't like the fact that they confuse our fans. They don't know what's real and not real."
"There was one post of my husband dead in the hospital, and I was leaning over him, crying on a handkerchief. His daughter called, wondering what was going on with her dad. That's when it struck me that this stuff is really bad."
"[We] report them, and there was no response. There was no, like nothing changed. In fact, it just keeps on going."
Ann Wilson of Heart is encountering AI-generated images on Facebook that depict fabricated scenes such as comforting Ariana Grande, fainting on stage, and arguing on The View. One image falsely showed her husband dead in a hospital while she leaned over him, prompting family distress. The images are confusing fans, undermining confidence in what is real, and have negatively affected Heart's ticket sales and business. Reports submitted to Meta requesting removal have produced no effective response, allowing the fake images to continue circulating. Heart will launch a 2026 leg of the "Royal Flush Tour" with Lucinda Williams in February.
