Hear Jeff Tweedy cover Cameron Winter's "Love Takes Miles"
"[The] immediate feeling of love - I think you fall in love over and over and over again. But the real love takes a lot of miles, a lot of time. That's the kind of love that makes ground harder under your feet and colors stronger, and it's just, it's not the same thing as puppy love. It's love that creates families, makes a family, maybe. Maybe that's it."
"Wilco listed Winter's solo album and Geese's Getting Killed among their favorite albums of 2025. Jeff Tweedy is touring Europe with his Twilight Override band and spent Valentine's Day in Paris. He dedicated a cover of Cameron Winter's Heavy Metal track "Love Takes Miles" to his wife, Susie, and made the recording available on his Substack. He described how immediate feelings repeat but that real love requires a lot of miles and time to deepen, harden ground, and create families. The band covered Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" on the tour's first night in Madrid. Wilco named Winter's solo album and Geese's Getting Killed among favorite 2025 albums, and a partial list of 2026 tour dates is included.
