"'Black Leather' is a song that was written by Sex Pistols members Steve Jones and Paul Cook, and given to The Runaways for their 1978 album And Now... The Runaways."
"Despite appearing on Guns N' Roses' 'The Spaghetti Incident?' more than 30 years ago, the band had never played it live until Saturday's show."
"A version featuring Jones on vocals and Cook on drums was issued as part of the Sex Pistols best-of collection in late 1979, and also in 1980 as a single paired with the song 'Here We Go Again.'"
Guns N' Roses performed 'Black Leather' live for the first time at Arena Castelão in Fortaleza, Brazil. The song was originally written by Sex Pistols members Steve Jones and Paul Cook for The Runaways' 1978 album. Although included in Guns N' Roses' 1993 covers album 'The Spaghetti Incident?', the band had never played it live until this concert. Duff McKagan took lead vocals for the performance, while Axl Rose sang on the studio version. The band is concluding the Latin American leg of their tour before returning to the U.S. for upcoming shows.
