Frozen Soul Unleash "No Place of Warmth" featuring MCR's Gerard Way
"We met Gerard a couple of years ago and have become friends. I knew he had a love for metal, so I spun the idea to him about singing in a Frozen Soul song and he was stoked! Gerard is an amazing artist and musician whose creative vision has shaped generations and more to come."
"The song is about life at its coldest and the choice you have to let it consume you, or to use it to find warmth in a world that feels void of it. Life is always coming at you, and death doesn't stop - you might slow it down, but it's always coming - so you have to make the best out of it and march on."
"Way delivers vicious screamed vocals starting at the 3:21 mark of the song, a far cry from his familiar singing in My Chemical Romance. He previously lent extreme vocals to the 2022 song "Rōnin" by Ibaraki, the black metal side project of Trivium frontman Matt Heafy."
Frozen Soul, a Texas death metal band, announced their third album No Place of Warmth, releasing May 8th. The title track features Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance delivering screamed vocals, marking a departure from his typical singing style. Vocalist Chad Green explained the song explores life's harshest moments and the choice between succumbing to despair or finding warmth amid emptiness. The album includes additional guest appearances from Machine Head on "Invoke War" and Sanguisugabogg on "Dreadnought." This follows their 2023 album Glacial Domination. Frozen Soul will support Avatar on a spring US tour.
