""My little Astoria town," Minntah says fondly. "It's really nice because it's such a small community and everybody knows each other, so there's a lot of support.""
""where creative people support each other," he says."
Nearly 100 people crowded into Cargo on the Fall Solstice as the shop was transformed into a performance space for the Minntah and Friends music series. Portland's Single Malt Trio—drummer Brent Follis, bassist Tim Gilson, and guitarist Dan Faehnle—accompanied 19-year-old Astoria resident Minntah Haefker. The group delivered top-tier jazz verve while Minntah emerged as an active musical partner on songs like "Misty," Laefey's "Dreamer," and an energetic closing of Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good." The audience included civic leaders, arts directors, educators, longtime fans, friends, and family, reflecting wide local support.
