Foreigner Rock Port Chester's Capitol Theatre with Help from Original Singer Lou Gramm
"Foreigner rocked the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, on Thursday night, December 4th. As an added treat, they were joined onstage by original singer Lou Gramm for a handful of songs. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act is sporting a new look these days, with Luis Maldonado taking over lead vocals for longtime singer Kelly Hansen, who retired from the band earlier this fall. Maldonado previously served as Foreigner's guitarist, after joining the band in 2021."
"On this December US run, Foreigner are celebrating their six-times platinum 1981 album 4, playing all 10 songs from the LP, albeit not in order and not consecutively. Maldonado and company kicked the evening off with two songs from 4, Night Life and Woman in Black, before diverting from the album with the title track from 1978's Double Vision. From the get-go, it was clear that Maldonado is a worthy successor to Hansen, delivering powerhouse vocals with a strong command of the stage."
"the crowd mostly remained seated until eight songs in, when Maldonado introduced the legendary Lou Gramm, leading to a standing ovation from the audience. The 75-year-old founding Foreigner frontman handled lead vocals on three tunes from 4 Luanne (which the band is performing on this tour for the first time in 40 years), Girl on the Moon, and the hit Urgent."
