Foo Fighters mark Dave Grohl's birthday - and support a good cause - at the Forum
"Look at the old guy next to you and just f-ing sing that,"
"Odds are he's been listening to KROQ since the f-ing early '80s."
"after accidentally "smashing the s- out of his left foot.""
"You know, I haven't gone to the bathroom once this whole show,"
Foo Fighters performed a benefit concert at Inglewood's Kia Forum to mark Dave Grohl's 57th birthday and raise funds for organizations fighting homelessness in Los Angeles. Two stagehands brought out an enormous cake during the show. The band continued after the 2022 death of drummer Taylor Hawkins and recent lineup turmoil, including the firing of Josh Freese and the addition of Ilan Rubin. Freese subsequently joined Nine Inch Nails, swapping places with Rubin. Guitarist Pat Smear will miss upcoming gigs after injuring his left foot, and Jason Falkner filled in at the Forum. The band played heavy, speedy, and tuneful music while Grohl kept the crowd engaged.
