"2% personality."
"Oh, we're gonna be buzzing,"
"It feels like I have my personality back. That was quite an authentic experience."
"beautifully unravel"
FKA Twigs flew from London to New York and answered a Zoom call from a dimly lit car, admitting she was running on "2% personality." She stopped at a familiar matcha cafe and consumed a lavender matcha latte, matcha soft serve and matcha-flavored pudding to regain energy. The matcha restored her mood and she returned to discuss Afterglow, an unexpected continuation of her third studio album Eusexua. Eusexua, released in January, names a coined term for a transcendent state and an era. Afterglow releases the same day as The Carpenter's Son and seeks to "beautifully unravel" questions of humanity, drawing on Prague's underground rave culture and tattered drum-and-bass patterns.
