Exclusive | Ariana DeBose wows the crowd at upscale gay piano bar in NYC
""It's not everyday an Oscar winner stops by the Townhouse," said a spy."
""dapper gentlemen and their younger male admirers,""
""Do you watch 'The Wendy Williams Show?' I'm Wendy Willams.""
""Luann thought she was doing her act. She tried to sing [her own song] 'Money Can't Buy You Class,' but they didn't know it. They know standards," a source told us at the time. "It's not a Cole Porter standard, it's not 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.'""
Ariana DeBose surprised patrons at the Townhouse piano bar with impromptu performances of "Suddenly, Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors and "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from Evita. The appearance coincided with New York Magazine Editor-at-Large Erik Maza's birthday and delighted the crowd. The Townhouse has been described by the New York Times as drawing "dapper gentlemen and their younger male admirers" and regularly attracts scene-stealing female stars. Previous notable visits include Wendy Williams in March 2023, who asked the doorman about her show and posed for photos, and Luann de Lesseps in 2022, who drunkenly hijacked the mic, was ejected, and later apologized.
