Ed O'Brien of Radiohead announces Blue Morpho, his second solo album and first under his own name, releasing May 22nd via Transgressive. Created with producer Paul Epworth during a difficult personal period, the album draws inspiration from Kentucky poet Wendell Berry's quote "To know the dark, go dark," Welsh countryside experiences, Wim Hof's breathing techniques, and Thom Yorke's songwriting advice. The six-minute title track features lush orchestration and strings, with O'Brien's vocals fading in and out, conveying healing and warmth. An accompanying short film, Blue Morpho: The Three Act Play, premiered at South By Southwest and releases with the album. O'Brien recently completed a Radiohead tour and announced plans for annual 20-show tours across different continents.
