Dolly Parton canceled a planned Las Vegas residency at the end of September, citing health challenges, and will not attend the Governors Awards to receive an honorary Oscar. Manager Olly Rowland confirmed that Parton is dealing with kidney stones and requires a procedure to resolve them. A Facebook post by her sister Freida asking fans to pray prompted widespread concern. Freida later clarified that she only sought prayers because Dolly had been feeling under the weather and that she did not intend to alarm anyone. Fans were urged not to worry as treatment is planned.
