"A month after MC dälek teamed up with This Heat drummer Charles Hayward for the very cool HAYWARDxDÄLEK album, dälek have announced their own new album, Brilliance of a Falling Moon, due March 27 via Ipecac ( pre-order). "The whole project was very influenced by what's happening in the world and this country," says MC dälek. "During the initial days of the I.C.E. raids, it got me thinking. You see those powerful photos from the sixties when Black men were marching with the 'I AM A MAN' sandwich board signs. It was powerful then; it's powerful now.""
"The first single is a dark, gripping, industrial rap song called "Better Than," which dälek says "encapsulates the new sound and feel of the record perfectly. It conveys the anger, frustration, and defiance of the moment. Sonically, it is somehow simultaneously, sparse and stripped down, yet complete and dense. A new wall of sound built only of the absolutely necessary elements." Check it out below."
dälek announced a new album titled Brilliance of a Falling Moon due March 27 via Ipecac. The project draws direct influence from contemporary global and national events, including I.C.E. raids and resonant civil-rights imagery such as 'I AM A MAN' sandwich-board signs. The lead single, "Better Than," is described as a dark, gripping industrial rap track that channels anger, frustration, and defiance while using a sonically sparse yet dense wall of sound composed of essential elements. The album tracklist includes politically themed songs and the band has scheduled a European tour across March to May 2026.
