Colin Stetson, Greg Fox, and Trevor Dunn release a fully-improvised collaborative album titled Nethering on February 13 via Envision/Invada. The album opens with a noisy, hypnotic title track presented as the first preview of the LP. Colin Stetson is a saxophonist with credits including Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, and Tom Waits; Greg Fox is a drummer formerly of Liturgy and Uniform; Trevor Dunn is known for work with Mr. Bungle and Fantômas. The trio recorded the album in 2018, a year after Stetson and Fox's Ex Eye album. The release is the first in a series of minimal free jazz and improvised collaborations and contains seven tracks.
