"'I Like You' is the first song we wrote with the album in mind," says frontman Euan Manning. "After a very long period of not working on anything, we started and finished this some bright morning last February in our practice studio. It felt cathartic, a completely grounding moment after feeling slightly lost for months. The first lyric is stripped/paraphrased from the tune 'My Funny Valentine.' I don't think it was written by Chet Baker but that's the version we know."

Cardinals will release their debut album Masquerade on February 13 via So Young. The band shared the single "I Like You," the first song written with the album in mind and completed one bright morning last February in their practice studio. The track followed a long period of inactivity and provided a cathartic, grounding moment after months of feeling slightly lost. The first lyric is stripped or paraphrased from the tune "My Funny Valentine," referencing the Chet Baker version the band knows. Tour dates run through March across Ireland and the UK and include U.S. shows May 7–17, finishing at Salt Lake City's Kilby Block Party.
