BTS kicks off massive 'Arirang' reunion world tour
"BTS launched its global concert tour on Thursday with the first of three concerts at Goyang Stadium near Seoul, setting a new record for the most tour dates by a K-pop artist."
"Band members RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook are returning to the stage after a nearly four-year hiatus, during which they completed South Korea's mandatory military service."
"The album was released in March and topped the Billboard 200 chart for two weeks, in a first for a K-pop group or artist."
"BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, or 'Bulletproof Boy Scouts' in Korean, and debuted in June 2013 with the hip-hop heavy album '2 Cool 4 Skool.'"
BTS commenced their global concert tour with three shows at Goyang Stadium, marking a record for K-pop artists with 34 cities. Tickets sold out rapidly. After a four-year hiatus for military service, the band reunited to release their fifth studio album, 'Arirang,' which topped the Billboard 200. The lead single 'Swim' debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The tour will feature performances from their catalog and the new album, following a free concert in Seoul earlier this year.
