"The Electric Nebraska sessions will be included as part of an expansive new box set titled, Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition, which is set for release on October 17th through Sony Music. The five-disc collection also includes Springsteen's original Nebraska album, solo outtakes from the era, and a newly shot performance film of the album captured at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey."
""There IS an electric Nebraska record though it does not have the full album of songs," Springsteen revealed to RS writer Andy Greene, after seemingly forgetting the record's existence. Once he was reminded that both Max Weinberg and Roy Bittan of the E Street Band had previously said they'd played on a run-through of the record, however, Springsteen went back to his vaults to find that said tapes were indeed there."
Bruce Springsteen is releasing the long-rumored Electric Nebraska sessions as part of Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition, a five-disc box set due October 17 through Sony Music. The collection includes the original Nebraska album, solo outtakes, a newly shot performance film captured at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey, and eight previously unheard electric versions recorded with Garry Tallent, Max Weinberg, Danny Federici, Roy Bittan, and Stevie Van Zandt. A previously unreleased version of "Born in the U.S.A." has been shared as a preview. The box set also gathers solo outtakes and tracks from a one-off 1982 solo studio session and aligns with the film Deliver Me From Nowhere scheduled for October 24.
