Bill Callahan Announces New Album My Days of 58, Shares Song
"Improv/unpredictability/the unknown is the thing that keeps me motivated to keep making music. It's all about listening to yourself and others. A lot of the best parts of a recording are the mistakes-making them into strengths, using them as springboards into something human."
"that they could handle anything I threw at them."
"The Man I'm Supposed to Be,"
My Days of 58 arrives February 27, 2026. The first single, "The Man I'm Supposed to Be," is available now. The band that played on -or YTI⅃AƎЯ- and the 2024 live album Resuscitate returns: guitarist Matt Kinsey, tenor saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and drummer Jim White. Live shows demonstrated the band's ability to handle varied material. Improvisation, unpredictability, and the unknown function as motivations for continued music-making; listening to oneself and others is central. Mistakes on recordings are reframed as strengths and springboards into human moments. Additional contributors include Richard Bowden, Pat Thrasher, Chris Vreeland, Mike St. Clair, Bill McCullough, Eve Searls, and Jerry DeCicca.
