Bethany Cosentino called for Casey Wasserman to step down after his name and emails with Ghislaine Maxwell appeared in Jeffrey Epstein files released by the Justice Department. Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to recruit and sexually traffic minor girls and is serving a 20-year federal sentence. Wasserman Music has represented Cosentino and Best Coast since 2021. Cosentino demanded a name change, removal of her and Best Coast from the agency site, and refused to continue financially supporting people tied to exploitative associations. Wasserman expressed regret about correspondence from over two decades ago and denied a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
