Beck Releases New Covers and Rarities Album Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime
"The album is named after Beck's 2004 cover of The Korgis' "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime," which appeared on the soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. That song opens the new album, which also features Beck's renditions of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love," The Flamingos' "I Only Have Eyes for You," John Lennon's "Love," and Caetano Veloso's "Michelangelo Antonioni.""
"Also appearing on Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime is Beck's contribution to the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World soundtrack, "Ramona," as well as previously-unreleased reinterpretations of Hank Williams' "Your Cheatin' Heart" and Daniel Johnston's "True Love Will Find You In The End." Many of these songs have appeared in Beck's setlists over the years, particularly during his recent orchestral run. See the tracklist below."
Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime is a compilation of rarities, deep cuts, and covers by Beck. The digital version is available now and the physical release is scheduled for February 13 on opaque "Valentine's Day red" vinyl with pre-orders ongoing. The album opens with Beck's 2004 cover of The Korgis' "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack and includes renditions of Elvis Presley, The Flamingos, John Lennon, and Caetano Veloso. The collection also contains "Ramona" from the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World soundtrack and unreleased reinterpretations of Hank Williams and Daniel Johnston songs, many performed during Beck's recent orchestral run.
