Baby Keem Announces New Album Ca$ino
"Baby Keem is releasing a new album this month. Ca$ino, which follows 2021's The Melodic Blue, is due out February 20 on Columbia and features Kendrick Lamar, Too $hort, and more. Today, Keem also released a trailer for the record, which stitches clips of him in the studio together with home videos and interviews with his family."
"The pair have collaborated regularly over the years on songs like "Family Ties," "Range Brothers," and the Grammy-winning, Bon Iver-sampling "The Hillbillies." "I understood the hardship before he was born-just the history of our family in general. We don't call ourselves the hillbillies for nothing," Lamar shares in the trailer. "This is a story of a warfare environment and a warfare, psychologically, to try and change our generational curses." The nearly ten-minute clip ends with a snippet of an unreleased new song."
Ca$ino is due February 20 on Columbia and follows 2021's The Melodic Blue. The album features Kendrick Lamar, Too $hort, Che Ecru, Momo Boyd, and additional collaborators. Keem released a nearly ten-minute trailer that stitches studio clips, home videos, and family interviews. Kendrick Lamar appears and links family history and hardship to themes of generational curses. The trailer ends with a snippet of an unreleased song titled "Booman I," co-produced by Lamar, Dave Free, and pgLang. Keem released "Leavemealone" in 2023 and performed with Lamar and Brent Faiyaz at Coachella in 2022. The album contains twelve tracks.
