Katie Stelmanis returns as Austra with Chin Up Buttercup, the first album since 2020's HiRUDiN, due November 14 via Domino. She co-produced the record with Kieran Adams and drew inspiration from Madonna's Ray of Light. The album centers on a narrative about the alienating feeling of being heartbroken in a world that is awkward and inconvenienced by personal pain. The lead single, "Math Equation," is an icy dance track accompanied by a video directed by Trevor Blumas. The release includes ten tracks: Amnesia, Math Equation, Siren Song, Chin Up Buttercup, Fallen Cloud, Blindsided, Think Twice, Look Me in the Eye, The Hopefulness of Dawn, and Good Riddance.
