Art School Girlfriend announces new album 'Lean In': stream 2 songs
""Last year, I decided that I would stop releasing music altogether," Polly says. "I continued going to my studio and making music purely for the way it allows my brain access a different plane and way of being; for the process over the outcome. That decision unlocked a period of intense creativity like I've never experienced before; I got obsessed and very existential."
""There are two songs out now: the dark, swirling "L.Y.A.T.T." ("Love You All the Time") which features Marika Hackman, and the skittering, cinematic "The Peaks." You can watch videos for both below. Lean In 1. Doing Laps 2. L.Y.A.T.T. 3. The Field 4. Down The Line 5. Almost Transparent 6. Save Something 7. The Peaks 8. Hope More, Hopeless 9. Lines 10. Framer""
Polly Mackey, performing as Art School Girlfriend, will release her third album Lean In on March 13 via Fiction. She nearly stopped releasing music last year but continued creating privately, valuing the process over outcomes. That period sparked intense creativity and existential exploration, reflected in a deeper, questioning sound shaped by studio work and collaborators. Two singles, "L.Y.A.T.T." featuring Marika Hackman and the cinematic "The Peaks," are already released with videos. Lean In contains ten tracks, including Doing Laps, L.Y.A.T.T., The Peaks, Hope More, Hopeless, Lines, and Framer.
