""What can I say? I'm trans," he writes. "This is a song about being trans. Trans people are vilified in conservative media and by the current administration, and trans youth are demonized, othered and isolated in schools for USING THE BATHROOM and PLAYING SPORTS. All this is to say, fuck that shit I'm trans and proud.""

Anjimile will release the album You're Free to Go next month and has shared the second single, 'Waits For Me.' The single explicitly centers trans identity and calls out vilification in conservative media and by the current administration. The song highlights how trans youth are demonized, othered, and isolated in schools over bathroom access and sports participation. Anjimile declares trans pride. A March residency in Durham, North Carolina precedes a U.S. tour in May and June, including a Brooklyn show at Union Pool on June 5. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 13 at 10 AM local.
