"I started singing when I was six years old, and I'm grateful every day that I still get to live my passion and do what I love with my life. At the same time I know that many people struggle to find joy, especially when there's so much to worry about in our world today. With this album I wanted to put some fire back in people's hearts, and show how much we need that joy and hope to keep our humanity going."
"Hope!! is dedicated to Kidjo's late mother, and like that album, it's a guest-filled affair, featuring contributions from Pharrell Williams, Ayra Starr, Nile Rodgers, Quavo, Davido, PJ Morton, Diane Warren, and more."
Angélique Kidjo announced Hope!!, her new album releasing April 24 via Warner Records. The album follows 2021's Mother Nature and features numerous collaborations with artists including Pharrell Williams, Ayra Starr, Nile Rodgers, Quavo, Davido, and PJ Morton. Dedicated to Kidjo's late mother, the album aims to inspire joy and hope amid global challenges. Kidjo expresses gratitude for her lifelong passion for music, beginning at age six, and emphasizes the album's mission to restore humanity's capacity for joy. The lead single, "Fall on Me," produced by Shizzi and featuring PJ Morton, showcases the album's collaborative spirit. Kidjo's 2026 tour runs through November with dates across multiple U.S. venues.
