A guide to Dua Lipa's Latin American cover songs
""I learned that rock music is very popular here,""
""I feel like everyone knows this song and if you know it, sing along.""
""It was a beautiful surprise,""
""I need to confess something ... Dua Lipa invited me to sing with her in Chile, but I had to be here [in Las Vegas for the Latin Grammys] and so I wasn't able to go.""
Since early November, British pop star Dua Lipa performed a string of concerts across Latin America in support of her 2024 album "Radical Optimism." She included nightly covers of songs associated with each country on the tour, mixing Spanish- and Portuguese-language selections with her hits. Many of the renditions went viral on social media. The tour wraps up Friday at GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City. In Buenos Aires on Nov. 7 she covered Soda Stereo's 1990 hit "De Música Ligera" and later covered Miranda!'s "Tu Misterioso Alguien." In Santiago on Nov. 11 she covered Mon Laferte's "Tu Falta de Querer," and Laferte revealed she had been invited to join but was unavailable.
