"As we await the new album, we caught up with vocalists/guitarists Ryan Nolen and Snow Ellet (the latter of whom is also a solo artist and the producer of The Academy Is' new album) who told us about five Chicago bands that everyone needs to know. Their list ranges from peers/friends of theirs to '90s power pop veterans to a later-period album from a certain group of 2000s-era radio rock hitmakers."
Chicago band Footballhead will release their sophomore album Weight of the Truth on March 20 via Tiny Engines. Three singles have been released, including "Used To Be" and the newly released "Diversion." Vocalists and guitarists Ryan Nolen and Snow Ellet highlight five Chicago bands spanning peers, '90s power pop veterans, and later-period albums from 2000s-era radio rock groups. Snow Ellet also performs solo and produced The Academy Is' new album. Footballhead will open Ben Quad's spring tour with dates across the U.S., including Asbury Park and Brooklyn in mid-March and additional dates through late March.
