"So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we'd call "indie," and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here's a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place."
"Last year I was listening to multiple versions of the Dead's "Peggy-O" (try the version from Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, NC, 4/12/78) and thinking about Fennario, also the land of "Dire Wolf," and I thought I'd write a traditional style tune myself. I thought about how lucid and unsentimental traditional songs are about death and change - how folk songs present life as it is and let the feeling flow from there"
A regular schedule covers album reviews across genres, indie roundups, metal previews, music news, track premieres, and a weekly-updated playlist of current favorite tracks. New releases highlighted include Maxo Kream's "FAKE JEEZY" featuring Denzel Curry and JPEGMAFIA, Charli XCX's atmospheric "WALL OF SOUND" tied to a Wuthering Heights soundtrack, and Slayyyter's single "Dance..." ahead of the Wor$t Girl In America album. The Mountain Goats released "Going to Fennario," written in a traditional folk style as a lucid, unsentimental reflection on death and change inspired by Grateful Dead recordings.
