Spotify's Page Match will let you sync your progress between audiobooks and physical books
"Instead, a new report has uncovered a feature that's coming soon to Spotify's audiobooks. It's called Page Match and it's pretty clever - it lets you take a photo of a page in a physical book, and once you do that Spotify will take you to the exact same spot in the audiobook. This lets you easily jump from the audio version to a physical text, if you're so inclined."
"What's more, it's bidirectional - so it also lets you know what page in the physical book the place you're at in the audiobook corresponds to. Page Match has been discovered in code from Spotify's latest app, but the feature isn't functional yet. Still, the company is working on it, as the screenshot above proves, so it's going to be coming soon."
Spotify is developing Page Match, a feature that links physical books and audiobooks by matching a photographed page to the identical audiobook position. Users can take a photo of a page in a physical book to jump to the exact same spot in the audiobook, and the feature works bidirectionally by indicating which physical page corresponds to the current audiobook location. Page Match was found in Spotify's app code but is not yet functional, with evidence suggesting active development. The feature requires owning or unlocking the audiobook on Spotify and will be available only in markets where Spotify sells audiobooks. Amazon offers a similar pairing but only between audiobooks and ebooks.
