Samsung's Galaxy Glasses detailed ahead of rumored 2026 unveiling
"Samsung unveiled the Galaxy XR headset last month, and its next product in the series will be a pair of glasses, as per multiple previous rumors. Its first pair of XR glasses has now been identified as having the model number SM-O200P. The "O" in that model number confirms we're not just talking about another headset, since the Galaxy XR's model number has "I" in it in the place of the "O"."
"Samsung's first XR glasses might be akin to Meta's Ray-Ban glasses, and in fact past rumors said the Korean company would launch a pair without a screen first, in 2026, then followed by a pair with a screen in 2027. The first pair of glasses allegedly has Transitions lenses, which means they automatically get darker when exposed to sunlight and become transparent when indoors."
Samsung plans to follow the Galaxy XR headset with XR glasses identified as model SM-O200P. The 'O' in the model number differentiates the product from the Galaxy XR headset, which uses an 'I'. Early iterations may mirror Meta's Ray‑Ban glasses, with reports suggesting a screenless model in 2026 and a screened model in 2027. The initial glasses allegedly include Transitions photochromic lenses that darken in sunlight and clear indoors. The glasses are expected to include a camera, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and cellular mobile data. Samsung filed the Galaxy Glasses name and intends a US launch.
