Pokemon TCG Pocket's Allegedly Plagiarized Cards Have Been Replaced
Briefly

Controversy arose over an animated card featuring Ho-Oh in Pokémon TCG Pocket's Wisdom of Sea and Sky set, as it resembled commissioned art by a Chinese artist. The Pokémon Company apologized, pulling both Ho-Oh and Lugia cards temporarily. No blame was placed on the artist; instead, TPCi took full responsibility for the inadequate reference materials provided. New artwork was commissioned for both cards, which are now added to the mobile app. Initially, it was unclear why both cards were withdrawn, but new art for Lugia indicates a proactive response to concerns.
The Pokémon Company swiftly apologized and announced the art for the "immersive" Ho-Oh and Lugia cards would be temporarily pulled from the new set.
Both cards have been added to the mobile app with new art by the same artist, Sie Nanahara.
Every set of cards in Pocket comes with at least one so-called immersive card that, when tapped, comes to life with animation.
TPCi made it clear that the responsibility for the issue lay entirely with themselves, providing dodgy reference materials for the artist.
