Lenovo plans to debut the Legion Go 2 at IFA Berlin on September 5. The handheld will use an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU based on Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5, with graphics handled by the Radeon 890M for improved gaming performance. The design echoes the original Legion Go, offering detachable controllers, a fingerprint reader, and an improved rear button layout. The device will sport an 8.8-inch 1600p OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a new fingerprint-resistant coating. A prototype featured a 74Whr battery with 65W fast charging; configurations may include up to 32GB RAM and 2TB storage, and it is likely to run Windows 11 Home.
As per the marketing materials shared by the tipster, the second-gen Legion Go will be equipped with AMD's Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5 architecture based Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU. AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme's key strength is improved graphics, which is powered by the Radeon 890M GPU. The new handheld from Lenovo is, therefore, expected to offer improved graphics performance in games.
In terms of design, the handheld will largely look similar to the original Legion Go. It will come with an 8.8-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and 1600p resolution.
