'I have a bit of a fractured rib but should be OK' - Joao Almeida hopes to race on and help Tadej Pogacar in Tour de France despite high-speed crash
Briefly

Tadej Pogačar celebrated his 101st career win at the Tour de France while the team was concerned for João Almeida, who crashed hard. Pogačar expressed pride in the team's performance, dedicating his win to Almeida. Almeida's crash occurred after a high-speed touch of wheels, resulting in visible pain, but he managed to continue. He required evaluation from the team doctor, with hopes he would not suffer severe injuries despite the seriousness of the crash.
Pogačar dedicated his victory to his injured teammate from the podium area in Mûr-de-Bretagne as Almeida descended by team car to the team bus.
Pogačar said, 'João crashed really badly, so it was not a perfect day. It's hard to make everything perfect in cycling, you can avoid something or improve something.'
Sports Manager Joxean Fernández Matxín stated, 'I hope he's not too bad. Maybe he's broken a finger but it was a big crash. He was in great shape.'
Almeida crashed hard with several other riders after an apparent high-speed touch of wheels. He appeared in pain but got up and got going.
