Honor 500 series make debut in China with Snapdragon chips and huge batteries
"The design of the Honor 500 and 500 Pro is clearly inspired by the iPhone Air with a distinct camera visor/plateau on the back. While neither of the new Honor phones is as thin or light as the Air, they do come with some impressive cameras and huge batteries. But speaking of design, both versions of the 500 series feature aluminum frames and glass backs. Each phone is 7.8mm thick, and they weigh 198g and 201g, respectively."
"Honor 500 and 500 Pro feature 6.55-inch LTPO OLEDs with 1,264 x 2,736px resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and 6,000 nits peak local brightness. Both phones also bring in-display fingerprint scanners and 50MP selfie cams. The main differences come in the chipset and camera departments, where the 500 Pro holds the edge thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which is paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, while the vanilla Honor 500 gets the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip."
Honor released the 500 and 500 Pro with an iPhone Air-inspired camera visor design, aluminum frames, glass backs, and full IP68/IP69K ingress protection. Both phones measure 7.8mm thick and weigh 198g and 201g. They feature 6.55-inch LTPO OLED displays (1,264 x 2,736px) with 120Hz refresh and up to 6,000 nits peak local brightness, plus in-display fingerprint scanners and 50MP front cameras. Rear camera setups include a 200MP main sensor and 12MP ultrawide; the Pro adds a 50MP 3x telephoto. The Pro uses Snapdragon 8 Elite with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, while the base model uses Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Both run MagicOS 10 on Android 16 and pack 8,000mAh Si-C batteries with 80W wired charging; the Pro adds 50W wireless and both support 27W reverse wired charging. Available colors include Aquamarine, Starlight Powder, Moonlight Silver, and Obsidian Black, with pre-orders open and first shipments due November 27.
