Google Pixel 10 in for review
"What is a bit surprising is the cameras. Google made a bold choice to incorporate a zoom camera in its base Pixel this year, and we're all for it! The 10.8MP 1/3.2-inch sensor (112mm, f/3.1, 5x) isn't as good, on paper, as the 48MP 1/2.55-inch (113mm, f/2.8, 5x) telephoto on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL, but it's more than a welcome addition."
"The other change from this year's Pixel 10 Pro (and even last year's Pixel 9) is the new main camera of the Pixel 10 - a 25mm f/1.7 shooter with a smaller 48MP, 1/2.0-inch imager. We don't expect it to perform much worse than the bigger 50MP, 1/1.31-inch main camera on the Pixel 10 Pro in most scenarios, but we'll test that as well!"
The Pixel 10 ships in a recycled paper box with only a USB-C cable and is offered in an Indigo color. The base model gains a 10.8MP 1/3.2-inch 5x zoom telephoto while the main camera is a 25mm f/1.7 48MP, 1/2.0-inch imager. The ultrawide is reduced to 13MP, 1/3.1-inch with PDAF retained. The OLED display is brighter (2,000 nits nominal, 3,000 nits peak) but remains 120Hz without LTPO. The phone uses the 3nm Tensor G5 SoC with 12GB RAM versus 16GB on Pro models, and the build feels as premium as the Pro with a more colorful palette.
