Einhaus Group has initiated insolvency proceedings for three of its companies after suffering financial damage from a ransomware attack in 2023. Founder Wilhelm Einhaus stated that the financial struggles stemmed from the public prosecutor's office refusing to return cryptocurrency paid to the attackers, which was seized during an investigation. The attack led to severe operational disruption, with millions lost due to ransom payments and downtime. Einhaus Group, which operates multiple businesses and once generated €70 million in annual revenue, is now faced with financial collapse.
