Fairbuds XL Gen 2 bring improved drivers, ANC and battery while retaining modular design
"The new 40mm dynamic drivers are backwards compatible with the original Fairbuds XL, meaning users with the older model can also enjoy the updated drivers and sound tuning. Fairphone will sell the left driver assembly for €61.95 and the right one for €39.95. But it's not just the drivers, all of the key component s on the new Fairbuds XL are user replaceable so if anything breaks, you'll be able to order the exact part and replace it on your own."
"The user-replaceable approach extends to the battery, which is easily accessible by opening up the cover on the left side. From there, you can simply pop it out, as it is not held with any adhesive. Battery life on the new model is rated at 30 hours with ANC off and 20 hours with ANC on. That's a 5-hour improvement over the first-gen version."
