Cash App added a shareable payment-links feature that lets users create hyperlinks from the payment tab which preload requested amounts for recipients. The links can be placed in texts, emails, or DMs so recipients click to complete payments quickly. The links support recurring payments and group payments. The feature followed research indicating Gen-Z often engages in multiple communications around payments and aims to reduce social awkwardness from in-app requests and push notifications. The links allow users to add context, levity, or humor in the channel that feels most natural. Cash App also launched an AI chatbot and a new benefits program with higher borrowing limits.
