Asus ROG Phone 9 and Zenfone 12 Ultra receive Android 16 update
"Asus launched its Android 16 beta program for the Zenfone 12 Ultra back in August, and after almost exactly three months of testing, it's now finally ready to roll out the finalized version. It's not just rolling out to the Zenfone 12 Ultra, but also the ROG Phone 9. The new build is 36.0810.1810.43, and the download size is over 1GB."
"The changelog includes adjusted system navigation settings, the ability to long-press the power button to invoke the digital assistant, a skip countdown button in screen recording, an issue with no sound during calls with Bluetooth headsets being fixed, and for the ROG Phone 9 specifically a lot of game profiles, AirTrigger profiles, and Macro profiles have been updated. Asus notes that some third party apps may not be compatible with Android 16 yet."
Asus has started rolling out the finalized Android 16 build 36.0810.1810.43 to Zenfone 12 Ultra and ROG Phone 9 after a roughly three-month beta period. The firmware download exceeds 1GB and is being pushed in staged batches, so some devices may receive the update sooner than others. Notable changes include adjusted system navigation, long-press power to launch the digital assistant, a skip-countdown option in screen recording, and a Bluetooth headset call audio fix. ROG Phone 9 receives updated game, AirTrigger, and Macro profiles. Some third-party apps may remain incompatible with Android 16.
